It is not velvet! 2 strands of synthetic fabric in an attractive animal print with large golden bead. I’m going to remove the excess gold chain as the length is ok. Probably adjust the clasp so it may be hidden inside the bead and therefore neater at the back of the neck. Just a suggestion. It’s actually not bad for the price. With the right outfit, should be quite stylish.
